Kasagi Sight-Seeing Navigation No.5 (Explanation Of Sight-Seeing Spots)

◇Oketsu (Potholes)◇

You can see Oketsu, potholes, near the confluence of the Nunome and Kizu Rivers.  These holes were created by pebbles and rock flakes that were caught in the concaves of the riverbed and rolled inside innumerable times by whirlpools.  Since the riverbed in this area is made of granite, which is extremely hard, experts estimate that it must have taken hundreds of thousands of years or millions of years for these potholes to have been produced.
